X-Girls History
The X-Girls, coached by Jim Marte, played their first season in 2002. Eight seasons later they're playing competition soccer in Class 3 with many of the original players still on the team.
The X-Girls originally started as a recreational team made up of five year old girls out to have fun learning how to play soccer. Season after season as they continued to work on the fundamentals of soccer the coaches watched the girls' skill level develop.
After going undefeated in the fall (2005) playing recreational level soccer, the X-Girls decided they were ready to move to a more competitive level. In their first season of under 10 (years old) Class 3 (Spring 2006) they're already making a name for themselves and proving they were ready for the challenge with a 1st place finish. Upon proving themselves capable, the X-Girls entered into Class 3 (Fall 2006) season with determination. They finished in 2nd place in the Girls U11 Delgado Division A league. 2nd place in the Division II District Cup tournament and 3rd place in the extremely challenging "Mustang" Tournament held in Danville, California.
Spring Season 2007 - The team dynamics changed with two X-Girls players moving upward to select teams and the addition of 5 new rec players to the mix. This development season concluded with a win-loss record of 8 wins- 0 losses - 2 ties.
SJSC Summer Camp July 16th - 20th, 2007.
16 players had the opportunity to attend this unique summer camp conducted by the San Jose State Women's Soccer team. It was a challenging, yet rewarding experience.
Fall Season 2007: We have an exciting 10 regularly scheduled games to play and look forward to the continued skill development of all the players. The team is playing U12 Delgado League, Class 3 A division.
One Big Happy Family
Being an X-Girl means being part of a family. A family of talented soccer players and their parents. The parents are an important part of the team providing game day support for the girls and often participating in practices. It's the family oriented dynamics and the genuine friendships that make being a part of the X-Girls so special.
